Therapy for burnout, overwhelm, and the parts of daily life that feel harder than they should.

Somatic, nervous system–focused occupational therapy in Calgary and online for adults navigating stress, postpartum adjustment, neurodivergence, chronic pain, and major life transitions.

Our approach

Occupational therapy in mental health is about helping you function in the life you actually have: your energy, routines, relationships, work, caregiving roles, and capacity.

At Aven Therapy, we take a gentle, nervous system–first approach that blends somatic tools, practical evidence-based strategies, and collaborative care. Together, we look at what’s making daily life feel harder, then build supports that help you feel steadier, more capable, and more connected to yourself again.

This work isn’t about quick fixes. It’s about creating sustainable shifts you can feel in your body and carry into the moments that matter.

Meet Ayisha

Ayisha Lewthwaite is a registered occupational therapist with over 20 years of experience supporting adults through mental health challenges, trauma, neurodivergence, chronic pain, burnout, and major life transitions.

Her approach is warm, somatic, and deeply practical. She helps clients better understand their nervous systems, rebuild capacity, and feel more able to participate in the parts of life that matter to them.

Ayisha has a special interest in perinatal and postpartum support, perimenopause and menopause, burnout, nervous system regulation, and sustainable return-to-work planning.

A space where you don’t have to perform being okay

You don’t need to arrive with the right words, a clear diagnosis, or a perfectly organized explanation of what’s going on.

This is a space where you can stop performing wellness, stop managing how you come across, or minimizing how much you’ve been carrying.

Whether you’re navigating burnout, postpartum overwhelm, neurodivergence, chronic stress, trauma, or a season of life that feels heavier than expected, we start with what’s real for you and move from there at a pace your system can actually tolerate.

“Struggling isn’t a sign of failure. It’s often a sign that your nervous system has been working very hard for a very long time.”
